Longitudinal Study of Mild Cognitive Impairment in Parkinson Disease
Researchers from Dr. Oury Monchi’s
Healthy Brain Aging Lab at the University of Calgary need your help! You may be
eligible to participate if you are 60 years of age or older.
We want to better understand the
development of thinking and memory problems in Parkinson’s disease and general
aging.
Who is eligible to participate in the study?

-Men and women 60 years of age or older

Patients with Parkinson disease with and without mild cognitive impairment (mild memory and thinking problems)

Right now, we are restricted as to what we can do with our participants, so we are only doing follow-up visits, but we are hoping to recruit new participants in the early spring.
What is required of the participants?
This 3 year research study involves:
- Study visits at 3 time points: baseline, 1.5 years, and 3 years
- A total of 8 in-person study visits over the 3 time points
- Assessment of your mood, memory, and thinking
- MRI scans of your brain
- Blood draw at every time point (a total of 3 blood draws)
- Assessment of motor symptoms of PD
