These Alberta Healthy Living programs are open Alberta-wide online. 

 

The Alberta Healthy Living Program (AHLP) provides services to those with chronic conditions in communities throughout Alberta. These services include information, education, techniques, and support to help improve your health and quality of life with a chronic condition.

Parkinson’s Medication Information

When: Wednesday, February 24 at 1 - 3 PM

This 2-hour class, with Karen Hunka, provides an overview of Parkinson’s medications and why they are prescribed. This class is intended for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s, their care partners, families or support community.

 

Parkinson's Speech & Swallowing

When: Monday, March 1 at 1 - 3 PM

Join Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Jenny Pachet to learn how speech and swallowing can be impacted by Parkinson Disease. Topics discussed will include when to see a SLP to help diagnose and treat problems, treatment strategies and research that is being done in the field of speech-language pathology and Parkinson Disease.


Planning for the Future with Movement Disorders

When: Wednesday, May 5 at 12:30 - 2:30 PM

This class is intended for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s or Parkinson Plus Syndromes, their care partners, families or support community.
