Marketing Coordinator – Calgary

FULL TIME / TEMPORARY (SEASONAL)
LOCATION: CALGARY
$20.00 PER HOUR / 35.0 HOURS PER WEEK
CONTRACT LENGTH: 8 weeks (preferred start date between May 26-June 2, 2025)

This position will see the successful applicant work with the Parkinson Association of Alberta’s Communications and Marketing department to provide a variety of marketing skills to help raise awareness for Parkinson disease and Parkinson Association, and to promote our programs and events through PAA’s digital platforms.
Working with and reporting to PAA’s Communications & Development Manager, you will learn and grow your skills in written and visual content creation (including, but not limited to social media, website, and press releases), analytics and metrics, organization, communications, time management, and interpersonal relationships. You will use your existing and developing skills to help enhance and support Parkinson Association of Alberta’s mission.
You are a creative, reliable, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for helping underserved communities with your inventive talents.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily support of PAA’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) including content creation, scheduling posts and replies
  • Update and maintenance of PAA’s website
  • Update and maintenance of PAA’s YouTube channel
  • Create, curate, and publish monthly marketing mailouts.
  • Develop, write, and distribute internal and external communication pieces and releases.
  • Creation and release of scheduled e-marketing campaigns
  • Gather and report on analytics and metrics of all digital platforms and/or digital campaigns.
  • Consult with Supervisor and other staff/stakeholders as required to gather relevant information for content.
  • Work with supervisor on campaign and marketing briefs and executions
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time; efficiently and effectively managing your time and deadlines.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Requirements

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related programs.

  • Experienced user of Adobe programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experienced user of Canva and social media scheduling platform
  • PowerPoint, Google Slides design experience
  • Understanding of Social Media platforms (Example: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and up to date on latest trends
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, good problem-solving skills
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Flexible availability, willingness to work weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to work remotely and in our Calgary office.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to meet the requirement of the Canada Summer Jobs program (must be between 15-30 years of age, and have Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee status
