Client Services Coordinator

PURPOSE OF POSITION:             

This full-time position will see the successful applicant work with Parkinson Association of Alberta to help coordinate and execute our programs and services for people living with and affected by Parkinson disease and Parkinson’s Plus Syndromes.  Reporting to the Operations Manager and working primarily at our Edmonton Office, the CSC is an integral part of the Organization’s team and contributes to day-to-day operations.  The successful candidate will be a friendly, compassionate, community-minded individual with a passion for people.

Office hours are 8:30AM – 4:30PM, Monday through Friday; with some evening and weekends required

This is a fulltime position (35hrs/week) set to start in September 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree or diploma in a Health/Human/Social Services field of study
  • Experience with seniors and/or persons with disabilities is considered an asset
  • Detail oriented, organized and possess excellent time management skills
  • High technical acuity and ability to learn and adapt to new technologies (including Office 365 and SUMAC)
  • Empathetic and supportive of others with the ability to set and maintain boundaries
  • Self-motivated with critical thinking
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
  • Valid First Aid is considered an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day-to-day client services
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Provide intake, one-on-one and family support, information, and navigation to clients
      • Including, but not limited to emotional/mental health support, exploring issues, teaching self-advocacy skills and techniques, facilitating conversations, providing Parkinson’s and community resource information, and incorporating appropriate interventions
    • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate regional/provincial programs (including, but not limited to support groups, education sessions, and active program options) for individuals and families
    • Travel to communities for programs, presentations, and events
    • Provide technical support with online programs and events as required
    • Public presentations to various audiences
    • Develop new and maintain existing stakeholder relationships
    • Contribute to Organization’s knowledge base through targeted learning opportunities
  • General administrative duties
    • Utilize a Case Management System (SUMAC) inputting client information/data and providing reports
    • Utilize Excel and Word to create and track documents, registration, etc
    • Contribute articles for quarterly magazine and provide content/up-to-date information for website/social media
  • Students/Volunteers
    • Host, mentor, and train students during their work experience
    • Complete evaluations and assessments for each student
    • Recruit, train and utilize volunteers when/where appropriate
    • Track student/volunteer activities and hours
  • General PAA
    • Attend weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual department/staff meetings as required
    • Support all fundraising events as required
    • Support all staff with general direction and day to day queries
    • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Starting salary $48,000-$50,000/year
