RECRUITING FOR BOARD MEMBERS
Parkinson Association of Alberta (PAA) is seeking committed leaders to join our Board of Directors.
PAA empowers individuals and families throughout their Parkinson’s journey, responding to each unique need with knowledgeable and compassionate support. Our Board plays a vital role in providing strategic direction, governance, and oversight to ensure this mission is carried forward across Alberta.
About the Role
Board members provide mission-based leadership and act as trusted advisors to the Executive Director. Responsibilities include strategic oversight, financial stewardship, participation in Board and committee meetings, ambassadorial representation, and support for fundraising efforts.
Board members are expected to:
- Attend regular Board and committee meetings
- Contribute to strategy, governance, and organizational performance oversight
- Act as ambassadors for PAA within their networks
- Support PAA’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and community representation
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome candidates with leadership experience in government, law or human resources who share a passion for improving the lives of people affected by Parkinson disease. Strong interpersonal skills, integrity, and a collaborative approach are essential. Completion of the ICD.D program is an asset.
Meet the Board
The work and direction of Parkinson Association of Alberta are monitored and supported by a committed, talented volunteer Board of Directors that meets bi-monthly. The board makes and amends policy decisions about our organization, its resources, and its activities, then communicates its vision to members and the public.
