The Buchanan Centre for Parkinson’s was established in partnership between the Gordon and Diane Buchanan Family Foundation and Parkinson Association of Alberta.
This is the first of its kind in Canada, with a flexible 9,000 square foot space accommodates a variety of activities and provides a warm, welcoming, safe, and barrier-free community meeting place. The Centre helps those living with mobility disorders by offering high-quality resources, support, and education.
"Thousands of Albertans are coping with Parkinson disease. There is no cure, but there is hope,"
Diane Buchanan, Buchanan Family Foundation
“The Buchanan Centre is a sign of that hope. It is about having a quality of life while living with Parkinson’s. It is not a research facility. It is not a medical centre; it is a living-better-with-Parkinson’s centre.”
The funding and construction of the Buchanan Centre was made possible by the following individuals and organizations. We are grateful for their ongoing support.
