Applications for funding for the 2026 are now open! 

To be used to conduct research in Parkinson disease at an Alberta-based University. Research can be basic or clinical. Candidate may have already completed a MSc or PhD graduate program, however this is not mandatory to qualify for this award. For the applicant to qualify, the supervisor must hold a permanent faculty position at a registered Alberta based academic institution

Submit the following:

  1. Biosketch of Applicant (NIH format preferred)
  2. Biosketch of Supervisor (NIH format preferred)
  3. Description of project (maximum three pages): suggested headings are Background and Rationale, Objectives, Research Methodology, Timeline (which should refer to activities that would be completed in the 1-year award period), Projected Impact
  4. Description of resources and support from supervisor: (maximum one page): this should include in some detail the local resources that would make the proposed research feasible for the awarded time. If clinical fellow, please comment on volume of clinical responsibilities.
  5. Lay summary of project (500-900 words)

$50,000 for 1 year

The deadline for application is Friday, March 20, 2026 and awards will be announced by June 1, 2026.
