The University of Alberta is conducting a research study to investigate how Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinson Plus Syndromes including Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD), and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) affect people. The goal of the study is to create a national open research network to help doctors, researchers, and patients understand more about a disease or condition and to improve health treatments.

Who is eligible to participate in the study?
You are eligible to participate in this study if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease or any Parkinson Plus Syndrome.
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are able to travel to the University of Alberta in Edmonton for study visits.
What is required of the participants?
Your participation will involve:
- Take part in a clinic visit (approx. 2 hours) to complete questionnaires, motor assessment, and cognitive test.
- Provide blood samples for biomarker and genetic analysis (optional).Become part of a Registry of patients so contact information may be kept for future ethics-approved research studies (optional).
- Complete online or in-person follow-up questionnaires every 18 months for 5 years.
